  • By Air: The Nearest airport is Gaya, It has direct connectivity from Kolkata, Patna is the second airport which connects major Indian metro cities but this is Approx 140 km i.e around 4 hours drove to Bodhgaya
  • By Road: Have Road connectivity via Patna.
  • By Train: Nearest railway station to Gaya, which is well connected with Patna, Varanasi, New Delhi, Kolkata, Puri, and other places in Bihar. Journey from Patna to Gaya is approx 03 hours. Indian Railways operates a special Mahaparinirvan Express Buddhist Tourist Train. 

Where to Stay: You will get budget hotel to stay in Bodhgaya, you can also opt to stay in guest-houses or Dharamshala, well-maintained Bhutanese monastery. 

What to Shop: Bodhgaya Handicrafts, decorative items, sandalwood beads & books associated with Buddhism, Lord buddha statues and paintings are the most shopped items. you can also visit Tibetan refugee market which is very popular for winter woolens

Best Time to Visit: Pilgrimage season starts in September and ends in January. but weather wise you should visit in november or february.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY 

Day 01: Bodhgaya 

Assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel rest day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Bodhgaya 

After breakfast sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya visit Bodhi tree where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment, visit Mahabodhi temple, lunch at a hotel. After lunch visit Sujata Village & Dungeshwari Hills. Overnight at Hotel. 

Day 03: Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Nalanda – Bodhgaya 

After breakfast at hotel later excursion to Rajgir (102 kms), Rajgir is a site of great Sanctity and significance for Buddhists. Afternoon visit Gridhakuta Hill, Bimbisara jail & Ajatshatru Fort. After lunch drive to Nalanda, (12 kms). It was one of the oldest Universities of the World & International Centre for Buddhist Studies. Nalanda was one of the greatest monastic universities of the ancient world University established in 5th century BC. It is believed that Lord Buddha and also the founder of Jainism religion Lord Mahavir taught at this university for years. There is even a monument to facilitate Chinese traveler monk and writer Hiuen Tsang who studied at this university in the 7th century A.D. After visit drive back to Bodhgaya. Overnight at hotel. 

Day 04: Bodhgaya departure. 

After breakfast at Hotel, rest of day at leisure for own activities. Later transfer to airport connects flight for your country.
